PREMIO VALCELLINA Decima edizione
Sono aperte, fino al 30 novembre 2016, le iscrizioni alla decima edizione del Premio Valcellina, il prestigioso Concorso Internazionale d’Arte Tessile Contemporanea dedicato ai giovani fiber-artisti, ideato da Le Arti Tessili associazione di promozione sociale e attività culturali fondata nel 1987, con sede a Maniago in provincia di Pordenone.
Il concorso, che con questa edizione festeggia l’importante decimo anniversario, nasce per favorire tra gli under 35 (nati dal 1 gennaio 1980) l’interesse all’arte tessile contemporanea, incoraggiare i nuovi talenti, stimolare la ricerca artistica e la sperimentazione che affidata agli artisti di fiber-art di tutto il mondo, trova sempre più interessanti espressioni date dalle diverse provenienze culturali e percorsi di studio, facendo del concorso uno spazio di apprendimento, maturazione e confronto.
Il Premio Valcellina è una delle più importanti manifestazioni italiane dedicate alla fiber-art, particolare forma di arte contemporanea che si esprime mediante le diverse tecniche dell’intreccio, l’uso di fibre di vari materiali e l’utilizzo di effetti ottenuti con quanto, anche simbolicamente, può essere riferito al fare tessile: arte tessile non intesa come tecnica di produzione di tessuti ma come medium di espressione artistica.

Regolamento in pillole
Il concorso è aperto a tutti i giovani artisti nati dal 1 gennaio 1980.
Si può partecipare singolarmente o in gruppo.
Si concorre con una sola opera inviando 5 immagini.
L’opera può essere piana, tridimensionale o video.
Il primo premio consiste nella frequenza gratuita di un corso presso una scuola partner con borsa di studio di euro 1500,00.
Il termine per l’iscrizione è il 30 novembre 2016.
La quota d’iscrizione è di euro 20,00.

VALCELLINA AWARD Tenth Edition
The registrations for the tenth edition of the Valcellina Award, the prestigious International Contemporary Textile Fiber Art Competition open to young fiber-artists, organized by Le Arti Tessili an association dedicated to social and cultural activities founded in 1987, located in Maniago in the province of Pordenone, are open until the 30th of November 2016.
The competition, that celebrates with this edition its important tenth anniversary, was created for the purpose of enhancing the interest in contemporary textile craft among young artists under 35 (born from the 1st of January 1980), encouraging new talents, stimulating the artistic research and experimentation. Promoted by fiber-artists all over the world, this artistic trend proposes a variety of possibilities thanks to the different cultural origins and study programs of the participants. In this way the competition becomes a place of interactive learning, mature experience and confrontation.
The Valcellina Award is one of the most important Italian events dedicated to fiber-art, a particular kind of contemporary art which is expressed through the different weaving techniques, the use of fiber of various materials and the use of effects achieved with what can be referred to as, even symbolically, the textile action: textile art not only conceived as technique for the production of textiles but as medium of artistic expression.

Summary regulations
The competition is open to all young artists born from the 1st of January 1980.
Candidates can participate individually or in group.
Only one work is allowed by sending 5 images.
The work can be flat, three-dimensional or video.
1st prize short scholarship with a partner school (free tutorial expenses) + 1.500,00 euros
Registration deadline: 30th November 2016.
Entry fee: 20,00 euros
